lost

I've come to realize, it's easy to get lost in a city like this. I'm not used to not seeing people I know at the market... it's so foreign to me! I'm learning that there's the culture of Spain, the culture of Barcelona specifically, and the culture of a large city in general. So my question is: how does one keep from getting lost?
